What to see

The closest beaches are along Carmarthen Bay at Poppit Sands, Mwnt, New Quay, Cwmtydu, Llangrannog and Tresaith. If you deicde to go south there's Pembrey Country Park and Cefn Sidan Beach, Pendine, and Llansteffan. Plus the many beaches of Pembrokeshire. 

The Harp Centre of Wales, where they manufacture bespoke Telynau Teifi Celtic and Lever harps, is well worth a visit in Llandysul. You do need to book in advance and you can see their contact details on their website http://www.welsh-harps.com.

The West Wales Museum of Childhood houses a wonderful collection of toys from the last hundred year and is not far from us.

There are two steam railways nearby for you to visit.  One is the Teifi Valley Narrow Gauge Railway at Henllan and more information can be found on their website at www.teifivalleyrailway.com. The other is the Gwili Railway, a standard gauge steam railway at Bronwydd Arms, for details see their website at www.gwili-railway.co.uk.

To visit something really special and not well known in the area, try Cilwenog Shell House, not far from Cenarth. You'll need to book, please http://www.thetempletrust.org.uk/#projects for details.  

The Welsh Wildlife Centre at Cilgerran stands within the Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve. This is a wonderful place to learn more about the local wildlife and the River Teifi and there are many events and walks which take place here.

Another little know fact is that the Teifi Valley is described as the "Loire" of Cheese Making. You can visit the cheese makers and for their details see their website at www.teifivalleycheeseproducers.com.

There are many National Trust venues to visit. For example, Dinefwr Park and Castle, Lanerchaeron, Dolaucothi Gold Mines and the Tudor Merchant's House. See the National Trust website for details: www.nationaltrust.org.uk

There are many castles and ancient monuments to visit for example Cilgerran Castle, Dryslwyn Castle, Carreg Cennen Castle and Llansteffan to name but a few. See the CADW website for ideas of places to visit: www.cadw.wales.gov.uk 

If you like a bit of excitement, there are theme Parks to visit, for example there's Folly Farm for younger children and Oakwood for everyone else!
